Laravel Development Lead & Technical Operations

Lakewood, CO - Belmar area (Hybrid)
$120–140K + profit sharing

About Us

We help businesses maximize the impact of their direct mail campaigns through data-driven analytics, reporting, and insights. Our platform combines cutting-edge technology with actionable intelligence to help clients make smarter marketing decisions. We're a small, agile team passionate about solving complex problems, delivering measurable results, and growing alongside our clients.

The Role

We're looking for a hands-on technical operations lead who will own day-to-day client operations and team execution. You'll run sprints, manage priorities, and translate client needs into developer tasks. While operations and client interface are our immediate goals, the ideal candidate would function as a mid-level coding resource when needed to unblock the team. You'll shadow the founder during training to learn the systems, then take ownership of day-to-day execution.

As our founders focus on architecture and strategic growth, you'll ensure smooth delivery of client projects while keeping the development team productive and focused. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in the operational trenches, enjoys both coding and client communication, and excels at keeping things moving.

What You'll Own

Day-to-Day Operations & Team Leadership

  • Run daily standups and manage sprint execution
  • Work with the founder to triage and prioritize incoming requests
  • Translate client requirements into detailed, actionable developer tickets
  • Own ClickUp workflows and project visibility
  • Review code and mentor developers
  • Handle urgent issues as needed to keep projects moving

Client Communication & Technical Solutions

  • Serve as senior technical contact for escalated client issues and complex requests
  • Lead client onboarding from technical kickoff to go-live
  • Coordinate regular client check-ins on project status
  • Present technical approaches in business-friendly language

Hands-On Development

  • Jump in to code when needed to unblock the team or handle urgent requests
  • Build and maintain Laravel landing pages and features
  • Debug and resolve issues across the full stack

Your Growth Path

  • Month 1–3: Master our systems, handle day-to-day operations and client requests
  • Month 4–6: Take ownership of development priorities and start contributing to technical strategy
  • Month 6+: Expand into data/reporting (MySQL), participate in architectural decisions, and grow your scope as you prove yourself

You're a Great Fit If You Have

Required:

  • 3+ years professional development experience with client communication skills
  • Strong understanding of web architecture (when to use a simple page vs. Vue/React/Livewire vs. third-party integrations)
  • Hands-on Laravel experience with production applications
  • Ability to code productively while managing others
  • Excellence translating between "business speak" and "developer speak"
  • Solutions mindset—recommend what's right, not just interesting
  • Experience presenting technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong project management and follow-through
  • ClickUp, Jira, or similar project management tool experience

Nice to Have:

  • AWS management experience
  • Basic SQL knowledge and ability to learn data reporting
  • SaaS or agency background

What We Offer

  • Compensation: $120–140K + profit sharing (based on experience)
  • Location: Hybrid in Lakewood, CO - Belmar area (~6 weeks in-office training, then in-office as needed for meetings and collaboration)
  • Impact: Direct influence on every client relationship and technical decision
  • Growth: Clear path from operations to strategic technical leadership
  • Learning: Work directly with the founder on architectural decisions
  • Variety: No two days are the same—coding, client strategy, and team leadership
  • Benefits: Medical/Dental, matching 401K, generous PTO

Who You'll Work With

You'll report to the founder and serve as the operational bridge between clients and developers, managing team priorities, workload, and execution to ensure clear communication and smooth delivery.

Important Note

This is a hands-on technical operations lead role. You'll be coding, talking to clients, and managing developers—sometimes all in the same day. If you prefer pure management or pure coding, this isn't the right fit. But if you thrive in variety, enjoy shipping real work, and leading others, this could be perfect.

We value curiosity, initiative, and problem-solving over perfection. Everyone's background is different, and your candidacy is welcomed even if you don't check every box.
